Today a wide range of strategies, techniques and technologies are available for avoiding limb amputation. This course aims to acquire a deep knowledge of the wide range of available tools and increase skills to treat patients with critical limb-threatening ischemia. For this purpose, traditional educational methods will be combined with hands-on training using human corps. Endo- vascular and surgical instrumentation as well modern facilities for fluoroscopy and ultrasound allow for a perfect simulation of our daily operative environment.
Target audience:
Vascular surgeons, Radiologists, Cardiologists
Learning objectives:
At the end of the course, participants will be able to: • Interpret preoperative imaging of patients with CLTI and choose the best revascularization strategy on the basis of interactive case examples. Develop a treatment algorithm. Evaluate step-by-step revascu- larization and bailout strategies will be discussed
• Select the best vascular access and use the appro- priate sheath, wires to cross the lesion, and the best vessel preparation methods
• Have used various support catheters, balloons, stents, atherectomy and thrombectomy devices inclu- ding their characteristics
